From a sentence to an editable floor plan
How Autonieer splits the work between a language model and a deterministic solver — and why that split is what makes the drawing trustworthy.

Most "AI floor plan" demos ask a model to draw. Autonieer does not. We ask the model to do the part it is good at — understanding a brief — and leave the geometry to code that can be checked.
Two halves of one job
When you type "a two-storey, four-bedroom family house with a home office on a 15 × 30 m plot", the work happens in two stages:
- The programme. Claude reads the brief and returns a structured programme: which rooms, roughly how big, which ones should sit next to each other, how many storeys, where the entrance goes. It is a list, not a drawing.
- The geometry. A deterministic layout solver turns that programme into walls, doors, windows, rooms and dimensions — snapped, repaired and validated. The same programme always produces the same plan.
Without an API key, an offline planner writes the programme instead, so the product works either way and every result says which engine produced it.
Checked before you see it
The finished plan is validated as one graph: overlapping rooms, openings that do not fit their wall, a room you cannot walk to, a staircase with no door, a ground floor with no way in — each one is an error, not a warning. If a space you asked for is missing, the model gets one structured repair round, and the repaired version is only kept if it is no worse.
The summary you read is checked too. Every sentence that quotes a count, an area or a room the drawing does not contain is removed, and so is anything nobody could verify from a floor plan: building-code compliance, permits, budgets. What is left describes the drawing in front of you.
Editable, not a picture
The result opens in the browser editor as real CAD objects — walls with thickness, hosted doors and windows, rooms with areas — and exports to DXF for AutoCAD, PDF drawing sheets, IFC4 and 3D formats.
Autonieer produces concept designs. They are a fast, well-organised starting point for a qualified professional, not construction documents.
